Mrs. Olivas graduated from the University of New Mexico with a BS in Education and a Minor in Mathematics in 2002. She also has a Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) Endorsement. She taught with Albuquerque Public Schools and Manzano Day School before joining ACS as a 1st grade teacher in 2013. Mrs. Olivas received the Catholic Award for Teachers in 2019.
Her favorite memory here at ACS is at the first school Mass that she attended. “As the children began singing the gathering song I got chills. I knew at that moment that this is where God wanted me to be.”
Mrs. Olivas has a strong passion to educate young minds and help them blossom into well-rounded, responsible, and successful individuals who are growing in their faith.
She loves spending time with her husband Carlos, a professional baseball trainer and their two beautiful daughters Mia and Emily. She encourages her students to find something they love to do and do it as long as they are able. She also enjoys working out and dancing!
